So the lanky streak of unwashed p155 has gone to the States, and is now presenting MTV awards shows and hanging out with class A celebrities and making a fortune.

A faustian pact has been made, surely?!

Have you seen the trouble he's in too?

I'll find a link in a minute, but he called you-know-who a "retard cowboy" and offended all of America when he took the mick out of a band of guys that wore promise rings (apparently these mean you'll not have sex until married).

to be fair, the dirty, piss smelling, unwashed tramp did have a point.

Forsooth, mi'lady!

Let's hope he has an unfortunate encounter with some rednecks.

Hire him and you know what you're going to get. Witness the mighty MTV marketing machine at work.

Saw him on BBC news this morning. I have nothing against his appearance or his humour, but the political stuff was cringe-makingly embarrassing.

That's exactly what I thought when Russell Brand first came to popularity touted as a revolutionarly and lethario. I just couldnt see anything of note about the freakishly dressed drug addict hobo. I still consider him to be the most likely proof that there is a Devil and pacts whith him are possible. Given the choice between the implied existance of God and therefore the fact we were created on a whim in 7 days I would say that is less fantastic and infinitely more likely than Russel Brand getting to such a level of fame without divine intervention.

Can you use your reading card on the computer Nick, or do you still follow each word with your finger as you read them out loud?

An awful lot of people here seem to hate this guy, I actually think he can be (though isn't always) quite funny. The very fact that you are talking about him makes him a marketable quantity. So the best thing you could do if you want him to go away is simply ignore him. If people don't watch, discuss and/or hate him, then he becomes irrelevant and has no market.

He annoyed the hell out of me at first and I really couldn't see the point, but I think he was allowing himself to be pushed into media that didn't suit his talents. His Radio 2 show/podcast is worth a listen. It usually starts off slow but gradually builds to a riotous crescendo of f*ckwittery.
