Another mini-rant...

I went to look at a house yesterday - now, I know it was Sunday, but I'd made the arrangements, I knew the house was empty (it's just around the corner from me) and the Agent said she'd meet me at 1130.

1130 and I turn up - no Estate Agent. I hang around for half an hour (fortunately it's a nice day and I can stroll around the lane) - nothing. No phone call. Nothing. I call the office and it's closed.

Like I said, I know it was Sunday and all that, but in this market, surely they should be at least trying to get my business???

(Am I at the 2 thread starting limit for the daysmile?)

When I moved up t'north in 2003 the Estate Agent was booked to meet us at the house to show us around on a Saturday morning. We drove 120 miles and he didn't show. apparently there was some confuion between offices on who was doing the showing. Travelled again the next Saturday, and no show again. This time one of the neighbours who had a key kindly showed us around. Rang the agents Monday morning to be told they did set out to do the viewing but couldn't find the property.

I suspect that it was because the closest office who had to do the viewing wasn't the one who had taken on the property and therefore wouldn't get the commission, so they didn't give a stuff and weren't going out on ta Saturday to earn money for other branches.

Seems that even now when they are on their ar5es they can't be bothered and if so, they deserve to go under IMHO.
