My 450 Chimaera is up to 23,000 miles on its original set of tyres and there seems to be plenty of tread left.
What milage can I expect before having to find the cash for a new set ? What milage have others got from a set ?
The car is mainly used at the weekends / sunny weather - you know the scene - but has done 3 track days.
I expect you will all say I am not driving it fast enough !

13,000 on the rear of the Cerb, and about 17,000 on the front (inside edges wear out long before the rest of the tyre though)....

You need to drive it harder !

We did about 24k on a set of SO2's that were already on the car when I bought it. Changed them for 3's a few weeks back (3's on the rear for some time).
I don't think it's relevant how fast you drive as to how many miles you get, it's the way in which you drive.
I cannot be accused of being a slouch behind the wheel, but I do believe I am a smooth driver - this makes bits and pieces last longer.
Making smooth progress through a corner at any speed will have less of a wearing effect than throwing it in to a bend.
Likewise with brakes, reading the road well ahead will save you a fortune in pads/discs because you won't be on and off the brakes all the time.

Just re-read this. Sorry 'Lesson' over

I get about 8k for the rear's, and about 6k on the fronts. However, 2 days at Donnington and 1 at Silverstone, killed my last set of front's which only lasted about 8 months (about 3.5k).
