Been bothering me all day - who does his voice remind me of?

He is the voice of Stephen Hawkins talky machine.
He must win if only for the comedy value.

After Sarah Palin's speech the probability of a Republican win increased significantly. The rabid left were and are digging furiously for more 'exposés' on her as this is the thing they know best - spin and smear. Apart from tax and spend = tax and waste, they operate within a pc-driven policy vacuum.

Where as she is rabidly right wing. The fact someone shares your opinion of global warming doesn't mean you should agree with all her other statements.

You don't have to look for 'exposés' when her limited record is packed with incidentss and she is a 72 years heart beat away from being president.

Are you THAT worried the Republican ticket will win? Great news.

She and McCain don't operate within a policy vacuum or bow down to tax and spend, her position goes far beyond climate change into related but wider issues such as energy security, and there's plenty more - she's got the right idea about yuman royts for a start. As to heartbeats she's got balls and would make a great President. I'm centre-right not far right, like many I've learnt over the years that putting lefties in charge of anything more critical than a secondary picket is a recipe for national and international disaster.

Good to see lefties running scared.

I'm not a leftie, I'm a libertarian the only candidate that impressed me was Ron Paul. I just don't want to see the UK involved in a war with Iran, therefore I don't want to see the Republicans elected.

I didn't accuse you of leftism. My post clearly speaks in generalities from the second line down, and I'm still delighted to see lefties - which doesn't include you Fittster - running scared in the US as well as the UK.

Do you think a McCain/Palin presidency is likely to see a military attack on Iran?

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

Ron Paul is the only man able to do the job- sadly the establishment media couldn't have him.
However, he has gathered a loyal following and is currently planning his own convention.

so she talks about less tax, less govt involvement in peoples lives, and smaller govt, and she didn't exactly ring your libertarian bell?

I always think that a President who has some genuine military experience (as opposed to playing at soldiers) has a much better handle on the real meaning of war and its consequences - and is therfore more reluctant to commit his country to war. McCain would certainly fall into that category. However, I do think that the US needs a clean break from 8 years of a very unsavoury and frankly irresponsible regime. Even if a Democratic president gets in for one term only, it will provide that break from the Bush/Runsfeld/Cheney era and allow America to mend an awful lot of fences that are in dire need of fixing.

McCain is trying to emphasise the fact that although a Republican, he isn't Bush or Runsfeldt or Cheney. How much the electorate think he is distanced from the current regime will be the key to how successful he is.

I have my reservations about Palin. Despite her scepticism of Global Warming, there are too many other factors to her "beliefs" and background that would put me off.
