Or indeed a more normal "modest" jackpot, say £7 mill.

How many people would you tell?

I wouldn't shout it from the rooftops. I think I'd sort out my nearest and dearest with enough to let them live a nice life then bugger off wherever I wanted to go asap.

The higher the jackpot, the closer I'd try and keep it to my chest, I reckon you'd open yourself up to a world of grief if everyone knew you had £92M in the bank.

What would you do, tell the world (ie. let the papers know who you were) or keep schtum?

I'd love to stroll into work 4 hours late, scratching the word '' onto the bosses car as I entered, sit down at my desk, put my feet up.

Maybe grab a fire extinguisher or 2 and go for a blast across the office, when the boss shouts me in, I wont walk to his office, i'd wheel my chair in, take down my trousers and do a massive st in the middle of his desk.

I would also give a sum of money to everyone I liked at my office, and explain to the people who I didn't like why they were not getting a penny, while humming, 'were in the money'

Not that I've thought about it or anything.

In all honesty, I wouldn't want to move.

Or would I?

I don't know.

I reckon that kind'a money would go directly to your head.

It'd make you mental.

You'd not need to make it work for you, you'd not need to worry about your offspring!!

God forbid it landed in some 'chav's' pocket!!!

I know a bloke who won a few Million on the Lotto and you'd never know. He's got a nice 4 Bedroom Semi and comes out to the pub like any other bloke. Doesn't act the Flash etc.

TBH I'd say there's only about 20 of his close mates know about the win.

For me, I'd probably make subtle changes to daily life. Eat out a little more often, feel more relaxed spending out on clothes etc.

I'd also treat myself to a couple of toys, but nothing major. Then the rest would be paying off my rent's mortgage, and making sure every close family member has a reasonable lifestyle.

Oh, and might just pay the rents back for uni....

Adding a couple of bottles of Bubbly and 'just enough' glasses for the ones you like would be fun.

I like your thinking!

That's added to the list, not that I keep a list or anything..

Leave the country, then tell anyone who needs to know. Then move to another country (just in case) and live happily ever after.

I think I wouldn't tell anyone if possible, just a few trusted people.

But I somewhat suspect as I rock up in my new DB7 Volante, someone will guess, and I don't think it would be fun to not get a new car, and be buying people loads of presents.

Aye.

Why do I imagine story repeated in thousands of pubs in West Yorkshire?

Perhaps a cautionary tale to get you gruff types to be more kind to each other, in a hopeful, 'Could it be you?' kind of way. wink

The very first thing I'd do is ring my boss and tell him I'm parking the works van in Tesco's car park with the keys taped to the windscreen. And that he can stick his silly fat head up his own arse. Then, I'm off to Russia to surprise my Dad as he's working out there at the moment at the Moscow Motor Show. Lucky bugger gets to go hooning about in the Focus rally car scaring oil barons. When I get back, I'm buying a TVR Cerbera with the noisiest exhaust I can find and running it outside my neighbours house purely to annoy the hell out of the grumpy old bint.
Then I'm off down the pub for a pint.

I wouldn't tell anyone. I'd pay-off a few close friends' mortgages and then help people out as and when they needed it on the premise that I was quite well off. I'd probably also go and live somewhere like Monaco where having £92M isn't a big enough deal for anyone to bother hassling you about it. At least when folks come out about their winnings there's a bit of fuss and then everyone forgets. The difficulty of hiding your winnings, especially such large winnings, is that the tabloids would immediately set about commencing a witch-hunt to find out who it is, so you'd have to be extremely discreet. There would probably be less hassle if you just came clean straight away... though I'd still hide it and leave the country.

I'd buy a decommissioned fighter jet engine, and crank it up on the following sunday morning at 7am, right out side the neighbours house. Take that you leaf blowing fktard!

After that, i would saunter into work and buy all the lads and my boss, because hes ace, a week off work in some debauched Fear and Loathing style!

If i still had any money left, id buy the missus something nice from the Elizabeth Duke collection.....

Seriously though, id sort my folks out first, then take a nice holiday with the rev limiter, once we got back I'd go see a proper financial adviser from a respected co. and invest carefully a large proportion, and once all that was out of the way, I'd go and buy a few toys and life the life of Riley till I die!

1. Have a little holiday... just somewhere I can think about a few 'choice' motor vehicle purchases.

2. Start collecting the vehicles from said list, dont get me wrong, I'm only talking essentials (along the lines of.. but needs tweeking):

Daily drive for me (audi RS)
Daily drive for mrs (probably going to plumb for a TT or a Z4)
Classic Sports (Lamborghini Miura... but which colour?)
Track day sports (Superlite R)
Usable classic sports (Merc evo 190)
Business / works (RangrRoverSport... just because..)

3. After a few months of travel, open a scrap yard for rare & exotics, couple of portacabins and a garage for tinkering.

cloud9 To be fair not much change really apart from the increase in garage dust collectors & the holidays!
