Ok, I'm one day and 300 odd miles into Exige ownership and I'm missinf the F430 already........ the noise that is.
What's the nicest sounding zorst set-up on a S2 Exige?
I know it's subjective but there must be some consensus out there.
I refuse to listen to the sewing machine racket behind my head without some "bark" to ease the pain.

Oh! And I'm suprisingly pleased to be back in a "lightweight" car again.

I love my B&C zorst, sounds great. And if you want some extra volume, de-cat!

Larini and 2bular seem to get most votes. 2bular in particular offer some bespoke solutions.

Heres a Vid of mine fitted with the Lotus Stage 3 or S/C Exhaust. Sounds awsome, lots of pops and bangs, even the odd flame. Not really track day friendly though..

Just out of interest with the Larini's which is louder:

Sports with oval tip or Club Sport with oval tip?

theres only one problem though...they all just sound like a noisy 4 pot, rather than a V8 wink

I stick to a stage I or similar if you intend on going near a track ......

I think the Club Sport is the louder one

There is no substitute for the real deal, however the Larini sounds far better than that currently fitted, what's the deal with fitting these?
It looks simple enough or am I asking for trouble?
Do these systems fit like a glove or are they a hammer job?
Is the Lotus warranty affected (as if I had to ask rolleyes)

Well, a lotus stage 2 shouldn't affect the warranty. I have one and it makes a great noise but it does drone a bit at standard speeds. The Larini and 2bular are meant to be better in this department. Some people have also had build quality issues with the Lotus stage 2 although mine has been fine. If/when mine gives up the ghost I'll be going 2bular as everyone I have spoke to about them raves about the quality/fit. The only problem is that Jim, the guy who makes them, isn't always the easiest to get hold of...

To be fair i dont think there's a single thing you could possibly to an Exige to compensate for having come from an F430 .

Could you ever tire of hearing a 430's 4.3 V8 spinning up to 8000rpm+?!

Sadly an Exige 1.8 will never have a noise like that frown

You can fit it yourself in under an hour or get your local garage to do it,no hammers required!
There should'nt be any issues with the fit as the companys have been making them for a while now.

And with regard to the warranty, you should'nt have any problems and most Lotus dealers are pretty sympathetic(i personally have'nt heard of any problems at all).
If you do end up being very unlucky/have problems then its only an hours work to put the standard one back on,win/win biggrin
Let us know what you fit in the endsmile

dealer who sold you the car will be able to provide the stage 2. The lotus sports exhausts don't have the best reputation for longevity tho.

Its not guarantee obviously.... but I've heard of lots of cars having warranty work (even replaced exhaust manifold) with aftermarket exhausts tho. If you go that route... 2bular is my vote
