I am in the process of acquiring a set of trackday wheels and tyres. They are in Edinburgh and I am in Bromley so too far to collect. What is the PH view on the easiest way to deal with this from a time/packaging/courier point of view? And I have no idea of the actual weight or true dimensions either.

Presumably you can work out the size of them pretty easily using the tyre size though! In terms of weight, and without knowing size etc, I'd guess they'll be 15-20kg.

For about £40 (4 x £10) you can have them sent as individual packages with someone like parcel2go.com (basically DHL but slightly cheaper through intermediary). For this they'll collect them from the seller and deliver to you. Volume and weigh requirements will enable you to send a reasonable size wheel.....I've sent 17" wheels and 225/45/17 tyres in the past using this. Seller just needs to protect the front and back of the wheel itself with card (taped all the way round).

Hope this helps

On a number of forums I frequent the members try to relay items, (particularly bulky/heavy stuff), up and down the country. It's cheap and as long as you don't mind putting your trust in fellow forum members and waiting a bit for said items it's quite effective.

I'd offer to pick them up but won't be driving down south for a wee while.
