Don LaFontaine is Dead

[bobthemonkey]

Yes, first thing I said when I read the headline was 'who?'.

Fontaine was the guy who did almost all of the voiceovers for movie trailers.

"In a world... full of shoddy voiceover work... only one man dared to do some really awesome ones...
But when disaster strikes... who will take over... the great man's mantle?"

We'll miss ya Don. Oh, see if you can find the advert he did for geicko (sp?) insurance.

Damn. I hate films, due to having the attention span of...well, something with a very short attention span.

However, I did like the trailers. And, in a world without Don, things will never be the same again...

RIP

[Sciroccology]

Did he perform the classic "In the West End now and all over London from Friday"?

[Mr Beaumont]

This is quite a good piece on him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPMvj_xejg

This bloke does a pretty good impression.

There are a couple of other guys who also do the deep voice trailers. See this clip - brilliant!
