Looking for tips on putting together a 60-second speech.

It's a one minute introduction about what I do, so I want to cram in as much as I can... without rushing through it.

A word a second??

if its biz networking don't mention what you do

just make people laugh with random stuff, the best sales people do not need to sell smile

people will ask you what you do if they are interested.

Who is the speech for, and what are you looking to achieve from it?

used to get loads of business from BNI, but always during the meet and greet, not from the pitch.

Wish you'd asked earlier, Tom. My MD was a member for yonks and was chairman or somesuch of Twikkers for a while.

I could ask his opinion, but as he's no longer a member and is fairly dismissive of it, I doubt it would be that positive...

bugger! oh well, but thanks anyway smile

i'm going to give it a shot, they say that they only allow one representative of each line of business, one plumber, one conveyancer etc.. I met someone who did it until recently and he was full of praise for it (plumber) but the only thing that irks me is that they rang me and canvassed me for it.. don't know why it irks me but it just does smile

..oh, and it's £400 to join..but I don't mind that so much as 1 deal a year should make that back smile - no wonder it's a growing business though, 400 X 60+ people per annum to run a weekly breakfast at loch fyne (and the organisers are volunteers as I understand it) hehe

Forth week into my membership and, so far, so good. 400-quid for a membership that generates bona fide referrals isn't a bad screw considering how much money one can spend on advertising.

Some professions will do significantly better than others.

I'm alright biggrin
