a bit off topic - does anyone know Mike Gardiner in the GT cup (drives an M400)

Yep I have raced against Mike for a number of years in various chamionships. He's a bloody good driver and has won numerous races / championships.

his noble is 3rd in the gt cup class 1 (when i watched it on tv)

its a but off the pace of the GT3 and BMW in 1st and 2nd is he not allowed to modify it, the other cars are clearly modified

Only for new subscribers I'm afraid. Sky HD is now only £150 for existing customers though.

Oh, I think you'll find his Noble is somewhat modified already.
The porsches are generally standard carrera cup 997 & 996 race cars. The M3 was a monster & ofcourse heavily modified but was just a guest entry so wasn't a class 1 car.

is something like an Ascari or Ultima allowed to enter the GT Cup ?

Ascari probably with appropriate ballast but I don't think they'd allow the Ultima as they won't allow it in British GT
