Where the hell are they all comming from, my garden seem to have quite a few on it even in the day??? This summer I have noticed slugs on my kitchen floor... What the Feck are they doing in the house?? never really had them in here before... they seem to come out at night... I started sweeping them up and launching them as far as I could down the garden, but every night I am finding 1 or two just 'chilling' on the tiled floor... They are horrid things, so I have been chucking them outside and salting the buggers to find a mush in the morning and feeling particulary satisfied with myself...

I came downstairs this morning, and there was a snail trail(no jokes about shagged women) on the carpet in the living room, WTF, surely it must be hard work to travel on carpet, the friction et al... anyway the point is, im not sure where they have come from or why they are here, the snail trail this morn lead up to the wall and no more snail trail, so I shall put that down to a ghost snail... but it was near the door which leads outside, so im making a wild guess that that is where they have come from, so im going to put salt along the boton of the door so they may think twice about attacking from that way...

Whats the best way of sorting these fkers out, they seem relentless, there are no holes in the wall, the dryer and washing machine live in the barn (due to the noise).... fking Moluscs....

They like holing up in moist areas. If they're indoors maybe under the kitchen units? Damp areas under the floorboards maybe?

If they are coming in from outside (badly fitting door?) stick a copper strip to the bottom of the doorframe. You can buy it from garden centres.

Nothing like stepping on one, barefoot, and feeling it explode between your toes.

hmmmm, not sure if it is damp under the units, though I have not had a look under there... the units are open underneath the lower shelve. The back door is a double glazed door so no way they can get through that, and the front door is a bit badly fitting but that leads into the porch which is relatively sealed and well fitted, might be drafty, but certainly not large enough for a slug to get through!! We are moving the kitchen to a different room in the next few weeks so I better not find a nest of the fkers under there... although it may explain where they are comming from...

Grit, egg shell that type of compound will stop slugs crawling in an area. Salt, slug pelletts will kill slugs, also a container of beer placed at ground/surface are will cause the slugs to crawl into the container and drown themselves.

We get edible 'Roman Snails' round here. Big, caramel coloured buggers allegedly imported by the Romans. Apparently some of them ran away and started their own wild herds.

Try planting monkshood among the other plants. The slugs still eat them, but only the once. hehe

you may have inadvertently asked "what's good for slugs?" and she answered you with the best way to attract them. Slugs and snails love beer, the old gardeners trick was pint glasses with a little in that they drink, get drunk, fall down, big problem (as they then drown in beer)

bringing me nicely onto

some joker said:
Old man Murphy had worked down at the brewery for years, but one day , he just wasn't paying attention and he tripped on the walkway and fell over into the beer vat and drowned.

The foreman thought it should be his job to inform the widow Murphy of her old man's death. He showed up at the front door and rang the bell. When she came to the door, he said, "I'm sorry to tell you, but poor old Murphy passed away at work today when he fell into the vat and drowned."

She wept and covered her face with her apron and after a time, between sobs, she asked, "Tell me, was it quick?"

"Not really," said the foreman: "He got out three times to go to the toilet"
