VR6 Corrado : Very Hot Intake Manifold?
Discussion
Folks,
Colleague in the office has a VR6 'rado... The aux water pump seems to be running quite a lot and the intake manifold seems to get REALLY hot (as in, can't leave hand on there for any time at all)...
Temp gauges don't report anything untoward, but I suspect that something is up..
Any thoughts? Radiator was replaced a couple of months ago, so I'm potentially suspecting an airlock of some description?
TIA,
slinky

It is normal.
It runs over the top of the engine so it gets hot by the heat rising from the engine.
And the regularly running aux water pump?It runs over the top of the engine so it gets hot by the heat rising from the engine.
I suspect, if this is the case, that maybe the pump has just got noisy in its old age?
The guys on the corrado forum will explain it/help you better.
The throttle body is, but the manifold isn't.
The Aux pump runs all the time the Engine & ignition are on. When the engine is powered down and ignition off, the Aux pump runs on for about 6 or 7 minutes.
The heat in the intake is the result of 6 cylinders crammed so closely together in an equally cramped working space.
All typical Corrado behaviour!
