Solution to cigar lighter position

Hi
The cigar lighter position on my V8S is right on my left knee, and it is not practical to use it for my sat nav etc.
Has anyone found an extension lead that fits and do's not stick out too far? Or is the only option to wire in another one?

My solution was to modify the switch panel. The hole left where the cigar lighter was originally has now got a push button switch for the fan override (that I've still not wired up!!)

So do you have a his 'n' hers clock with that clock where the vent was?

I agree the position of the socket is rubbish - though contrary to what others seem to think I like my pathetic little dashboard vents

Original plan was for an outside temperature gauge, but they weren't cheap and couldn't think of any other gauge to use, so sourced a clock. It's more a trip clock as it is not wired in to a constant live feed.

You could have an altimeter or an inclinometer from my old Pajero if you like Russ ?

You could mve it to the same place on the passenger side, the centre console is made to allow for this for LHD models. My solution was to fit one in each position.



As I said on my website ignore the creases I had just recovered the console and the vinyl was still "settling" there are no creases now as it has all gone to shape nicely.
