Do not want to start the Racist Police off, and this is not meant as racist.

Tomorrow several PH'ers were to take part in an event to raise money for a childrens cancer charity with Great Ormond Street Hospital. Last year it raised over £5,000 by the public having rides in sportscars. But it has just been cancelled at the last minute as Travellers have moved in to the car park being used and, despite getting everyone involved who could possibly move them, their daily mounting rubbish and human excremt on, their "Rights" mean they can stay there and stop this event happening. Quite rightly the organisers cannot trust £1,000,000+ pounds worth of cars in their vicinity. Makes you f****** sick doesnt it?

They have set up camp on a prime spot on the East Overcliff in Bournemouth just in time for the airshow. Not only that but this car park that they have invaded was ear marked for disabled parking for the weekend event, but due to being unable to move them until next week they stay for free to make an eyesore and disabled people will have to use a car park further away, bearing in mind all the car parks will be heaving anyway.
They have also taken hold of another car park at a local beauty spot where I walk the dog at the weekend. I have to pay £1.80 to park and get a fine if I am late back, yet they get unlimited parking for free, unchallenged.
If you or I did it, it would be trespassing, and we would be clamped and or arrested. Yet in this day and age travellers (and I mean travellers as opposed to genuine gypsys) are seemingly exempt from all laws...
Makes my blood boil too...

Find as many people with shotguns as you can find.

Point in faces of travs. Tell them to F@ck off.

Have event.

Works round here.

How about building a trebuchet, and charging people £10 a shot to sling manure at the pikeys? You'd easily top £5k.

That's disgusting.

I'm guessing someone has said to them "Congratulations, you've just stolen £5000 from a bunch of poorly children", and their response was "Yeah, so what, we got rights"?

Where was it going to be held?

Get it in the papers, get the local news on it, anything.

If you're lucky you may get a big group of vigilantes set fire to their tents mad

What is this country coming to?

makes you sick really.

maybe a daft question but do they actually know the event is taking place, and what exactly it entails if it has to be cancelled?

if they have been given this information and have chosen to ignore it then, quite frankly, they deserve all they get should a group of like minded individuals decide to "assist" in their removal...

if they havent, it might at least be worth a try?

Surely you can simply find another car park...

I agree, you shouldn't have to re-arrange your plans but it seems a shame to cancel the event.

Just put a few signs up at the original venue directing people to the new venue.

I would have thought the council might be able to help, or if there are any retail parks nearby, perhaps one of the stores will do their bit for charity and let you use part of their car park.
