Excellent, can't wait to see him in the thick of it this year. Are you going to give him new tyres as well?

It will be good to see him competing on level terms. I have to agree with a previous posting tipping him for the top on here a couple of weeks back.

If the rumours are true then it should be getting a bit hot at the front with Michael Caine and Guglieleieleieleie....mi as well.

Interesting to read the replies thus far, and yes we will try to give him new tyres for each race! I think a word should be said about the help that Dave Porter and his team gave Jay last season, Jay will be the first to admit that last season played a large part in him obtaining the sponsorship level he needed before Hawthorns could consider the further support he required. Steve Howard did indeed support Jay the season before last and knowing him as i do i'm sure he will be pleased with Jay's sucess.

Rod,

Are you still running the "Hawthorns" motorsport club; I this can launch Jay into the international scene just like it propelled JC-W into stardom.

I'm sorry for not mentioning David Porter and Pistonheads very own Wayne Phelan. Anyway with Rod Barrett and Colin Blower supporting Jay, we can expect a good year.

Hey, that's my car from 2000. Which of you owns her now? She's fantastic and will take you far. But make sure you take care of her!

Hi Simon,

The car is now available for hire for 1 to 1 Tuition provided by International Drivers Club (www.id-club.com). Usually at Bruntingthorpe and tutored by Jay Shepherd - hence the mention here.

The car is also available I believe for the full race season, delivered to each venue, ready to go. That was the case about a month ago although I didn't get the owners name at the time. Anybody interested could establish contact via IdC.

Shame about the disappointment of missing out on a drive at Daytona but good luck for next season.

Ah, ok. Its a shame in a way that the car has now been relegated to track days. But as long as she isn't sat doing nothing then I'm happy.

I was only ever going to Daytona to watch. I took my licence just in case there was a freeby going but, for someone who has never raced anything more powerful than a Caterham or raced for more than 30 minutes, there wasn't much on offer.

Maybe next year.
