I had a can supplied by the Factory that was an exact colour match, made for the particular shade of gel coat.
Halfords have a huge colour book and the ability to mix to anything you can find in there. I had a can with paint that matched my green stripes and it is excellent stuff and sprays like no other cheaper can!

I will also have to follow the matching route. My car is much darker now than when new. This can be seen under number plates etc. I have been lucky in that although it is slowly going black at least it is uniform. The problem you will find is you are trying to match a moving target and where I had a couple of small repairs the resprayed parts are now substantially lighter. I guess the answer is to spary again after a few years.

He has indeed. My car was painted 9 years ago a colour that was similar to the gel coat yellow. It wasn't an exact match because, since the whole car was being painted, it didn't need to be. However, after my recent "incident" the factory had the new rear clip painted an identical yellow to the rest of the car. Their paint shop managed to match the colour OK, so I assume any decent paint shop should be able to do the same.When I took delivery on the car I sent a mirror out to be color matched by a well known paint store. They used their color matching machine and mixed the paint. This paint was applied by a pro painter to the back of the seats and is about two shades off of the correct color. I would say that its got to much green in it. Fourtunatley being away from any direct comparison to the body color its not noticable. if it had been a body panel all hell would have broke loose and I would have lost. My point is no matter how well you think you have matched this yellow find something, maybe a wrecked panel and shoot and compare before you get committed. Lee
The gel coat is a British standard colour, BS348 I think, sunset yellow. I got a local paint company to mix up an aerosol can for me. As others have said, even buying the same colour won't guarantee a match, as the gel coat colour changes with age.
p.s. I'm sure the factory will give you details, they also supplied me with some matching gel coat for a repair.

When I was building my Ultima these forums didn't exist, nor did the build diaries. I was on the phone to Hinckley every weekend, and they always had the answers I needed. I assume nothing has changed, so I am always surprised at the number of questions on here which could simply be answered by talking to the factory.
