Going to be visiting here (for an IT exam) in a couple of weeks... Anyone know what the available parking is like? I don't want to be driving around for half an hour!

Short answer is horrid. Sorry.

There is reasonable on street parking a short walk away if you go down the Broadway and bear right at the Y junction into Berrylands, just be early!

Most of the paid parking there is short term, full and expensive.

Park in M&S or drive up past the Fire Station and park outside someone's house

Where are you coming from? It's very close to Tolworth railway station if getting the train is easier.

Oh I'll just be coming up the A3 a bit, it's not far. Parking is my only concern smile

That line goes Chessington South to Waterloo, and every stop inbetween. Might be worth going in to come back out of you're not driving.

Every time I've tried parking in Tolworth Tower itself it's been full - there are spaces but I think they're employee ones. Might get lucky with a visitor spot but I used to live in Berrylands so have parked up there or round the back of what was the Toby Jug, or up by the Esso if nowhere else was available

I usually park up along Fairmed, if failing that Any side street off Warren Drive. Easy 5 minute walk to the Tower! These may the safer roads if not then you can park up to the south of the tower on Oakleigh way or Broadoaks but dont know how long your car will last!

It's Tolworth, not Basra and it's not like he's parking a Gallardo there either.
hehe

red lion road, about 5 minutes walk is the closest free parking IIRC smile

If you go past Tolworth Tower (On your right) towards Surbiton, just past Tesco's traffic lights, you can park on the left hand side of the road after 10am, and in the bus lane on the right hand side up to 4pm, depending what time you are arriving and departing you may have to move from one side of the road to the other.
Then it is a 5 minute walk max.

Maybe not,

But lived there for 4 years and between me and my 2 flat mates we had 9 incidents invloving our cars. All incidents took place during the day. As far as i am concerned i would not park up on the southside of the broadway!

Red Lion Road is closed to traffic turning in from Ewell Road, so there's a bit of a detour at the moment via Ditton Road much further up.

As mentioned before, King Charles Road is usually good, or any of the side streets from it, although it can be busy it is free.

The car park at Tolworth Tower is pay & display so that may be the easiest thing to do.

One word of caution, the traffic wardens are always out in force so becareful as to where you park and the time limits.

Have you called the office you will be attending and asked if they have parking spaces for visitors.

There is a car park in the Low Rise.

Spent 6 years working in Tolworth tower.
The only upside was the Marks food store.
that explains all

Good grief. Just drive north up Tolworth Broadway, turn left before Iceland, through the width restriction and you hit a residential area. Park anywhere there. Job done.

Ditto. Parked my car on a side road - actually more towards Hook roundaround - and some oxygen-theif broke the mirrors on my (then) newish Rover 200vi. As a comparison, any self-respecting chav in Guildford would at least find a 3-series before attempting to write their name on. In summary I wouldn't park on a side road.
Edited: yeah, the bit near Iceland seems to be okay so far, .. hasn't been tested yet in a recessionary environment though.

They probably thought you were a gangster, or druglord, and decided to leave your wheels alone. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, respek for the bruvs et al.

I parked in a local road by the tower in my Scooby and when I returned to it some fooker had nicked the number plates.

So, I knocked on the door of the nearest house and it was opened by a MILF wearing just a negligee who invited me straight in and to go though to the lounge. When I explained the number plate situation, she got very embarressed and quickly put on a dressing gown. I must have inadvertently found a brothel or something!

Anyway, she gave me the number for the cops and a young officer turned up to get the details, it went something like this:

Cop: "Are you the guy who reported stolen numberplates?"
Me: "Yes"
Cop: "Which car is yours?"
Me: "This one here without any numberplates"

What a day....

hehescratchchin Maybe I shouldn't sell it after all. Or I should black out the windows for effect.
