Today along the Main - Frankfurt
Discussion
Hi folks,
Some of you may know that a couple of weeks ago I moved to Frankfurt. I am still looking for work and as a break from sitting on the net stumbling over the same old job sites, I thought I'd get on my bike and have a cycle along the river with my D40x and its 55-200mm lens.
Here's what I came back home with:
A cyclist has a rest next to a marine refuelling station

The cylindrical Westhafen Tower

Working hard

Two working hard, two taking it easy

This guy gave me a bit of a weird look when he saw me taking a photo of him taking a photo
)

Having a natter and a beer

Looking east along the Main

Strumming the axe. (This guy was still here about an hour later when I came back past!)

And it's GO, GO, GO!

Sitting gulls

Old train carriage now serves as a bar

Mayhem -vs- Ray

C&C welcome of course
Thanks for looking,
Leo

Thanks 4Hero
Those types are my favourites too and are fairly easy with the longer lens. I got quite a few similar ones at Le Mans this year, mainly on what seemed to be our preferred spot on the Porsche Curves.
I'm a real beginner at the whole proper photography thing, for yonks I had a tiny Minolta dImage which had no manualness on it at all. That's what got me into this lark really, I managed to get a few good shots with that thing despite its lack of features etc.
Glad you liked the ones above, they were the best of almost 100 shots I took yesterday and (can't quite remember) I think about half of them have been tweaked a bit in Photoshop

10-20?! Those must be some interesting pics he got. Your 100-400 sounds good too - are either yours or his photos you took that day online somewhere to have a look at?
Being here in Frankfurt I feel like I've got SO much more opportunity for this kind of photography. My home town and surrounding areas in NW London didn't quite lend itself to taking a nice camera with big lens out of its bag!

Sure, mine are here (combination of the 100-400 and 70-200), and Gary's are here (Gary did have two bodies, so there's probably a good mixture on his flickr)

Forgot about this topic! Thanks for the Flickr link, 4hero. Some great shots in there and it's amusing to think that your friend had such a short lens on and was up in people's faces
It's another hot sunny day here today so I'm off out on the bike again and will take the camera for a bit more practice (one of the very few joys of having no job, yet
