Recommend me a game

As per title, much like the what car threads in GG, this is a what game?
I'm looking for an involving game that will let me play it for a good while, not really into online MMORG type things I'm thinking more strategy type games, I had shogun total war for my PC a while back and really enjoyed that.
My only proviso is that I'm on an Apple Mac so the game choice is a little limited, and its not a brand new one either (that'll come later please!)
So over to you the PH gaming massiff.
