urgent! - need help on Maser 3200 purchase dilemma
Discussion
ok guys things have moved on again since this morning...
I ahve the choice of two cars both are 02 cars, both are red, black interior, carbon pack. the surrey car will cost me a premium of 2500 over the midlands one.
The mainpoint is that the midlands car lacks the switchable sports suspension. This is the only thing I'm concerned about - what would your choice be?
car A) at a well known surrey dealership
8000 miles
electric memory heated seats
electronic suspension
electro chromatic mirror
sat nav (becker one - not personally bothered)
red calipers
car B) at a midlands based dealership
3000 miles
NO electric suspension?
NO electro chromatic mirror
NO sat nav (becker one - not personally bothered)
NO heated memory seats
carbon pack
red calipers

Sorry for the delay. Buying me an apartment online, well talking the guy down anyway.
I would go for the switchable suspension. On the 360 it comes in handy when I want to get a bit frisky with the tarmac.
Not sure about it an the Maser but surely it can't do any harm if you like to make progress on the road. Also it could be a bonus come resale time.
Doing research now for you as it is raining here so I have sod all to do.

I've replied to your email but to help others that may be faced with the same choice I'll post my 2p worth.
When I first got the 3200 I couldn't tell the difference between the sports setting being on or off - on a 4200 it's much stiffer. But the main advantage doesn't seem to be the stiffer settings, it's the fact that the ASR doesn't cut in as early allowing you to spin the wheels slightly on quick getaways. This has helped me no end since mine was chipped as the turbo spins up at lower revs and without the sport mode the ASR kicks in too often.
Memory seats - I really wish I had these. The seats often forget to go back after letting someone into the back. I have two driving positions -
1. Town when I need to change gear and need to be closer to fully depress the clutch.
2. Motorway when being so close is uncomfortable for the foot rest and the angle my right foot has to maintain.
So I'd have memory position 1 for town driving, 2 for motorways and 3 for when I've got a rear passenger.
I assume the sat nav is the upgraded Becker unit and worth having.
The automatic mirror might be useful if it works or a pain if it doesn't.
The above options must have added about £4K or so to the initial price.

Coming up with Bu99er all at the mo.
What about warranty coverage for the cars? Same for both I assume. Oooh, but heated leccy seats do wonders on a cold day. Seats on, windows open, music up and feed the tyres some of our tarmac.
Best to try and get hold of one of the Maser boys. I will only lead you quickly down the road you're already going.
REMEMEBER, EYES WIDE OPEN BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER. That applies to everything!
(not much help eh?)

cheers chaps - you're helping me get there!
Suspension - yes switchable electronic 'skyhook' or normal 'unswitchable'. Consensus seems to be that there are few cars without the electronic suspension, so therefore it looks like a 'must have' option. (in addition you get 'sport' mode, which as Alex suggests should be more fun!!!)
all comments appreciated!
