I was treated to a magical tour of London on a recent flight into Heathrow. I managed to grab my exhausted little Ixus camera and get a few shots. This was the best. Hope you like.

Cool - so what did you do there then?

image -> adjustment layer levels -> auto levels -> merge down -> mode -> lab -> duplicate layer -> adjust -> curves -> a channel 1 in left at top and 1 in right at bottom -> b channel similar

mess around with the a and b channels to see effect then I think I set the blend to multiply and reduced opacity until I was happy. Then merged layers, converted back to image -> mode -> sRGB and saved

Far better to do manual levels, auto levels tends to expand the range below 0 and above 255.

yes hence the phrase "quick and dirty" was applied. And auto is more than enough for most cases and certainly for most casual users

I should say though, great picture smile

I was in Pimlico for a funeral this week and I didn't quite realise how close I was to everything.

Cheers - yes it's surprising how compact central london really is when you see it like that.
