Downloaded GIMP and it's great. As I am currently sat here with a bust shoulder meaning no driving, cycling or sailing to keep me amused for a few weeks, I really want to learn how to use it properly. What's the best learning resource for the software assuming very little prior knowledge that will get me going without going into professionals-only levels of detail?

Thanks!

Great, thanks. Had a very quick look down the headings...looks like it's got most of what I want to be able to do.

Ta!

There are a few GIMP books about too. I bought one on Amazon called GIMP: from beginner to professional.

I'm certainly at the former end othat spectrum, but hte book is good and written very well. £15 I think it was. Well worth it.
