Most of you guys who read this forum watch from home or on the grassy bank at our wonderful motor racing circuits at home - and when possible abroad too.

How about giving something back and getting closer to the action?

As a marshal I watched the GP feeling sorry for the poor guy who had to wave a flag for 11 laps because of Trulli's stranded car. This would have been an organisers decision and not the poor flag waver. (I can assure you them things get heavy after one lap!!)

Marshalling gives you a whole different view point of the races and gets you involved. It is all volunteer work, but just think.....

Saturday 20th September - Oulton Park Touring Cars - you could be there!!! You could follow this series round the country or F3/GT if you prefer!! Then you get to go to all the UK circuits and watch for free!!!

If you want to stay local there are 20+ meetings per year at Oulton Park. After a couple of years experience and training you can volunteer for the British Grand Prix - or further afield if you want!!

Any takers? Drop me a line if you want more information.

Seconded. I started marshalling this year. Great fun, the GP is just about the only meeting that is regularly up to numbers for marshals, so you'll be welcome anywhere.
