Hi,

My mum is looking at one of these. Anyone have experience with them? Also so far her experience with the Audi main dealer has not been too good.

The other option is a Range Rover Sport TDV6 hse. Has anyone experience of both or either of these and able to give pros and cons of both?

Many thanks,

Dave

id say go for the Q7. The Range rover sport feels VERY cheap inside, alot of plastic bits and its very common. The Q7 on the other hand feels well built and doesnt look cheap inside

Q7 chews through tyres every 7000 miles or so. There are plenty of threads about this. If she wants a monster 7 - seat 4x4, then she should be comparing the Q7 with the Discovery, X5, Land Cruiser etc. All 4x4 values are falling through the floor, without exception, so tread carefully and buy a two year old car for 25k ish. Disco 3 HSH, Q7, Range Rover (Big Boy), Merc ML and X5 can all be brought for this kind of money.

Yeah we've been looking at 25-33k. Initially looked at this disco but the sports have dropped substantially into our price range now and my dads keen on them. We dont need a 7 seater but my mums fairly keen, we do however need something big enough for 2 labradors and luggage.

The land rover dealers have been phoning every other day and been dropping prices on some really spec'd up good discos, but my dad likes the sports.

Ill let him know about the tyres on the Q7 though, thats usefull information. Hes not too fussed about running costs but new tyres every 7k is a bit much!

Thanks guys,

Dave

Q7 is just to big for UK roads, unless it will spend 90% of it's time on the motorway. Disco is the most practical by far, Cayenne best on the road. If you don't need 7 seats and high running costs don't concern you, look at the Cayenne.

Has anyone had the Q7 3.0tdi with the MTM remap? This is as the range rover tdv6 is hellishly slow!!! Dad doesnt like the porsches and wants a diesel for some reason and hed rather have a range or q7 over the touraeg.

Passing on all info to him though! At the end of the day i think hes gonna drive all of them and just pic the one he and mum like the most. Im keen on the Q7 myself!
