I detected clutch slip on my 2003 (facelift) 156 1.9 JTD. Only momentarily at 2500 rpm in 5th or 6th when using pedal to the metal (of course that's what you need to overtake on the motorway - sorry, autobahn). This week it seems OK again.

I have a fear of needing not only clutch but also dual mass flywheel - £1000 worth even at an independent.

Car's only done 65000, no town driving, and I'm always kind to the clutch - previous owner may not have been though.

Any ideas?

That's the way mine started, turned out to be a leaking oil seal putting oil on the clutch.
It's 7.7 hours book time, although the DMF was OK on mine.
