Here's the age old problem:

I've lost count of how many times this year I've looked at the forecast and thought sod that I'll do somthing else - like go to work frown rather than go sailing smile and it's turned out much better than predicted.

My old drinking and sailing mate and regular crew who, like me, didn't mind a bit of wind and rain died earlier this year. I hate going sailing on my own and Mrs JS is a fair weather sailor - she gets very vomit if it's rough and cold. The kids have grown up and and are both working so don't have the time to come out anymore, and none of my other mates - at least those you'd want to spend a few days on a small boat with - can get out much either.

At this rate the boat will be up for sale soon as it's not getting used enough to justify keping it.

So what do I do? Go out and take a chance and run the risk of putting Mrs JS off forever, find a more accurate source of weather for the east coast (any suggestions?), or stick the boat up for sale and find another pass time for us both to enjoy?

I know what you mean. On sunday the forecast was pretty poor, and it was raining when we left home but by the time we actually left the mooring it had stopped and we didn't get any more. It often seems in that estuary a lot of the bad weather passes you by. It turned out to be quite a nice sail.
