Far be it from me of offer advice where none has been asked, but if anyone knows Dom well enough to pass this on, please do so. In case he hasn't already, I feel strongly that he should retain a loss adjuster/assessor - usually available on a % basis. My experience of this is that such services pay for themselves in terms of highlighting missed recovery opportunities.

His insurer, NU, will be represented by someone who's principle objective will NOT be to maximise the value of the claim! He and his team will be experienced in such negotiations and I think Dom should have a similar person 'onside' to arguue his case (and the case of the unfortunate owners).

This is NOT to falsely or otherwise inflate the claim but simply to use every opportunity to maximise it within the spirit and the rules of engagement. Proceeding otherwise would, IMHO, be like a layman representing himself against a large institution who have specialist legal departments representing them.

It also occours to me that such a person could act as the interface between TVR Power and it's customers who may have suffered losses - so relieving Dom and his team from this administrative nightmare!

Apologies to Dom if he has already thought of this and either done it or rejected the idea but I thought it worth mentioning because in the immediate aftermath of such an incident it's easy to become bogged down with other pressing detail.

Nick.

If he's insured with NU I pity him.

yes

I've had some serious problems vis-a-vis payouts from them myself. Apparently they are well known in litigation circles for being one of the very worst late responders/payers etc in the insurance business.

I've dealt with a few insurance issues and discovered my favourite stock phrase. "This is what it takes to put me in the position I was in prior to x,y,z incident". Please explain how this can be achieved another way? By the way here are three quotes for each major element of the works.
