Are small build companies moving away from self build as a result? The Atom would be a great self build - looks easy - with no body issues! Why isn't is available as a "kit" I wonder?

they wont publish Ultimas figures as it was not verfied by them (was there any indipendant press there?) and i suspect they wont be invited again until their relationship with Autocar is 'fixed'.
They report the record as what Autocar have verified rather than what other people have claimed, probably why they ignore the Veyron as well????

fair enough....... its just that I think Ultima is fantastic product (great performance, great looks, great build quality, great price performance etc) and don't want some uneducated magazine tts ignoring its ability without good reason. Even a comment like "loads of other cars around we could have tested eg Ultima etc, but we didn't have time to test them" would give them more credibility IMO.

Well you could have asked for a place as one of the readers cars, there was an open invite to owners of ineresting cars in the mag a couple of months ago.ts ignoring its ability without good reason. From a seller or potential sellers point of view I can see the logic in that statement but it will take more than a few magazine articles to make any appreciable difference to a would be buyer I think. A valid point was made on here not so long ago I think in that the Ultima is the type of car that is deliberately sought out for purchase as opposed to being any type of alternative or in stead of purchase and this alone will limit your market.I guess I am fortunate in as much as I do not need to think about re-sale as I will be keeping my car for a very, very long period of time

All these people are potential buyers for us and i think the more glossy pictures and media attention we can get, the better.
I'd hate to think that one day your pride and joy will have to go for 35k, as we both know it cost slightly more than that to get onto the road.

It's nothing against any of you that would like Ultima to receive more recognition than it does but I have said it before and I will say it again, I like the mistique and anonymity that surrounds our cars, the best kept secret and all, makes it feel more special, a privilege if you like.
Maybe the Prof is right, maybe I am a bit of a Weirdo

Funny that At Goodwood one of the resident instructors came over and said .. your 'NOBLE' sounds really good and yes it's a yellow car with black ULTIMA GTR writ large on the side !!
