Carrera GT Kit Car!?
Can't wait for the Carrera GT to hit the streets? Well some bright spark has produced a lookalike kit car that might just fool a few people. It currently features a GM V6 so may not sound the part but it does a pretty good job of looking the part from some angles. It's up for sale at www.rarecars.org although it may not be long before Porsche's ever-keen legal department go for a look themselves...

Called the guys up to ask about it...they sold it for 30k USD last month. It has a Ford Fiero engine (like most kit cars) and the roll hoops are not functional. The rear lights are LED, just like the real one. Next one is going to be featured in DuPont Registry and will be for 36k USD. While they say there is plenty of room for a Corvette engine, they are not interested in building that.
They are fairly confident they won't get sued by Porsche because they are not eating into the potential buyer market.
They used to build a very realistic Diablo replica before, and expect to make about 4 of the Porsche replicas per year. What else, oh yeah, no visits please!
