Sorry if this has been done to the death, however I cant seem to get the search function today, its just not having it.

Ive got CS2 Photoshop and im trying to learn the techniques however, im not sure where to start. I understand how to use the most basic functions, but when it comes to layering etc, i havent got a clue.

Are there any particular books/websites which can be recommended to learn the techniques?

We're currently deciding what colour to decorate the lounge and Ive been trying to use different colours however the colour im choosing doesnt seem to be the same shade im then replacing on the wall!

Google "photoshop tutorials" and you will find more information than you can read in a lifetime.
If you are into torrents you will also find alot of top Photoshop books available for download.
The rest is down to your own imagination. You ability will be down to the amount of time that you are prepared to put in. The good stuff wont come about if you can only devote an hour or two a week.

Get a proper book, made of paper, far easier to use when learning new software than any online or in programme help.

Hello,

A really good book is 'Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers' by Martin Evening. It is very easy to understand and contains a lot of detailed steps.

The current one is for CS3 but you should be able to find a copy on ebay or similar.

Thanks Ill check that book out

You're right, to be in front of the computer with the book taking it step by step is often a lot easier than trying to follow some of the stuff on the net.
