needing more power from noble m12 gto 2.5

Hi, I'm new to the forum and Noble as I've just brought a 52 plate M12 GTO.

Few questions I hope someone can answer;

Do the coolant hoses to the turbos normally have jubilee clips, as mine currently doesn't.

I found a rolling road print out in the paperwork and it is putting out 290BHP- is this normal and what are the best mods to get a bit more out of it?

Any generally common problems I should look out for?

i seem to have wet carpets in the rain can anyone tel me what sort of job it is to seal the floorpan?

Welcome to the forum.

I can't speak for everyone else but my car came with jubilee clips on the turbo hoses. Would be a good idea not to floor it as a hose may pop off.

?? Pressure in the coolant system is not a function of throttle position .

I would bang some on just in case. They're probably welded on with corrosion but I wouldn't want one coming off unexpectedly.

Some of the guys have mentioned their power output is lower than expected. Does it say which rolling road it was?

I ended up just laying next to the side of the car and checking to see where the floorpan had come a tiny bit away from the rest of the body (tiny little cracks can be seen). Just used black sealant to close them up (was a bit liberal with it) and have been fine since.

Yeah, those coolant hoses can become loose/hardened leak.
On mine I just needed to ensure the clips were all tight.

if you have the Marelli one, find someone that wants to buy a Noble sharpish !

The Magnetti Marelli ones were/are both inflexible and prone to failure.
There was not really much of a way around it without a big bill !
Although they can be repaired, you will almost certainly need to get and MBE or an Omex in there if you want to get tuning.

The people you really need to talk to are JNM in Chesterfield, or Roush. They are both very good, so it will probably be a geographical decision !

JNM swapped my ECU from Marelli to Omex when it failed. Tweaks and changes over the next couple of years got it to 407bhp.

Also make sure you have a track sump and you check the oil all the time !.....see here....

That's not bad for a 2.5L
Just read your edit, and you mentioned you had an oil leak from the rear turbo.
Whereabouts was it? Found mine had a smallish leak on the front turbo where one of the clips had got a little loose.

Or a Haltech E11 which has lots of options on it. I know of 2 Nobles with this on. Mine has a boost trim straight into the ECU so i can adjust my boost from wastegate upto 1bar. It also has on board data logging.

I have a new ECU in development at the moment, it will be generic (like Motec M800) but will be way better. The same make (Simtek) as our top line Impreza Custom ECU's. Better than the Omex Et Al.

how hard is the ecu to get to?

Remove the cover in front of the rear wheel (drivers side) Its in there. The cover can come out with the wheel on but its easier with it off.

Mike, Have you had a look at the Haltech it has a lot of features on it for all sorts of things. Like Launch Control, water injection, IC spray, Tracktion control and lots more?
