I'll be a apriah for this, but...
Discussion
I've been a member of the TVRCC on and off for years.
I never really bothered getting involved with it or many of it's organised events.
I really enjoyed running TVR's. But have never liked the cliquey nature of clubs.
For me, the new style, good quality magazine makes the club worthwhile. Okay, in that sense it's purely a magazine subscription. But hey, I like pretty pictures of nice cars!
In contrast, the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club magazine is perhaps more accomplished in the quality of it's articles; such as a step by step rebuild of a E-Type etc. But I find it all little dull to be honest.
You could say Pistonheads has an easier time of things, being a multi-marque publication it has a bigger pool of car related news to pick from,
it doesn't charge for it's services, so only the most mean-minded have the front to complain and it's readers make up most of it's content - unlike car club magazines.
However, I like many others, sometime feel that the level of drivel talked by Gassing Station contributors is astounding. But as I said - It's free so I'm not going to complain
Phil. Going back to your original point though.
I don't really care for being organised by others and maybe you're not a culb person either. Maybe we should start our own club!
(P.S. I'd still like to meet up and take a gander at your Wedge sometime.)
