Emissions failure
Discussion
Hi all
I wonder if anyone can help here. I recently MoTd my '92 Griffith 4.3BV (non cat, 35k on the clock) and it failed due to the HC reading being aroun 1600ppm. (limit 1200ppm) CO reading was fine. After a thorough thrashing I returned to the station and re tested, if anything slightly worse. Looking at the history, previous tests have shown this value to be around 1000 to 1100 ppm since 2001 (14k on the clock), when strangely, I have two print outs, one for "right bank" and one for "left bank" at 375 and 451ppm respectively. Since the exhaust joins into one at the downpipe I would have thought this impossible to test. Anyone got any thoughts on the cause and what would be a typical result for a healthy engine?
Thanks in advance
