I hate this country

Worst part is the unpredictability. No point of even watching the weather forecast as they get it wrong half the time anyway.
Means days can't really be planned, just take pot luck on the weather. August used to be garuenteed sunny weather, hence the amount of people that got married and have anniversaries in this month, but not so much anymore.
Certainly wouldn't sell my car over it though

Im probably exaggerating by saying Im thinking of selling, just p!sses me off. Means days can't really be planned, just take pot luck on the weather. To Livinlavidalotus' point, yeah i could go out in the rain, but its nowhere near as much fun, tiptoeing round the corners. Id like to just have the opportunity to put my foot down every once in a while
I LOVE the weather in this country! Nothing like taking the roof off on a cold brisk winters morning, wooly hat and gloves, and having a spirited drive along through the countryside.
I could never move to Spain or Australia or any other 'hot' country (bit of a generalisation I know, there's plenty of cooler places in both countries....). The seasons is what makes this country so beautiful, seeing the leaves fall in Autumn, and the beautiful red winter sunsets.
And rain is great to learn the value of subtle inputs in an Elise!

Yep, mostly agree. But you would think in the middle of August we might at least have the summer part of our seasons.Or even just a little bit of it.I could never move to Spain or Australia or any other 'hot' country (bit of a generalisation I know, there's plenty of cooler places in both countries....). i am gonna sell the car. take all monies and move to british columbia; grow a mullet, buy a camaro, drink cheap beer, buy cheaper fuel and ski the best mountains in the world all winter.

As for not using the car, does it shrink if it gets wet?
Mine's not a Lotus, but would you fancy driving it around in the rain?
(check profile pic)
You don't have to go round every corner at 100mph for it to still be fun, still had plenty of safe fun on some of the twisties to Bakewell without any hint of the car stepping out of line in the rain.
the current weather is due to some low regions that should normally be much further north at this time of the year, that, have quite naturally, not moved (as happens sometimes... its called weather not climate change), hence the crappy summer.
Generally though, it should mean quite a mild winter...

Well I'm online because I'm bored.
I'm on holiday in the South of France at the moment and it's 20 degrees, windy and dull.
Still, it's the first day it hasn't rained for a while.
At least there's lots to do in Blighty when the weather's crappy...
Where abouts??? I'm heading down to Fitou (near the Spanish border) in a weeks time to try and get some sun!I'm on holiday in the South of France at the moment and it's 20 degrees, windy and dull.

Tony - in Spain myself next week - in the mountains above Marbella so not exactly 'near' by the sound of it..?
Mountains above Marbella (road to Ronda), 2 weeks ago today . Gutted to not be there now.

LOL, trust me you don't want to own an Elise and live here! I'm going to leave the car at the circuit now and buying a Focus with aircon and a roof to drive around in!
..and you think it's hard driving an Elise in the wet, you should try it on tarmac that seems to have 99% glass content so that even touching the throttle in 3rd will put you sideways (great for a while but gets tiresome eventually!)
Andy (in Marbella!)

I noticed the same thing in my hondaelise - what is up with the tarmac!? A guy in the garage told me that its even worse on a scooter. Every roundabout was taken as sideways as possible for the week I was down there (sometimes on purpose but mostly not!) :-)..and you think it's hard driving an Elise in the wet, you should try it on tarmac that seems to have 99% glass content so that even touching the throttle in 3rd will put you sideways (great for a while but gets tiresome eventually!)
