Nobles racing at Silverstone

Two Nobles are entered are in the LMA races this weekend at Silverstone:-

Saturday
Qualifying 11.10 (20 mins)
Race 5 15.20 (20 mins)

Sunday
Qualifying 11.10 (20 mins)
Race 11 15.00 (20 mins)

Not done so well today. A misfire limited Mal's chances of beating Nick Williamson and his Escort Cosworth, and a pit crew error resulted in a lack of fuel with Richard causing a DNF.

However, a lot was learnt from this weekend, and quite a lot of it race-craft as the second race was a corker with Richard fighting his way up from eighth to third, only to lose third and then 4th just before the fuel ran out with just over a lap to go......

Just because the driver put his foot down more and used more fuel...... A lesson in there somewhere.....

Put a couple of extra litres in but leave off the pants and socks, Thats should do the trick

Just a quick thanks to all involved with the car prep last weekend:-

The guys at Jetstream Motorsport pulled out all the stops to get the car ready for the Saturday morning having only received the gearbox (a day late late) on Thursday lunchtime, then working through Friday night to fit the engine and test drive the car at 2am, finally delivering the car to the circuit for 7:30 am and then checking all was well with it. A fantastic effort. Also thanks to Chris and Trevor for getting the car prepped during the weekend and making my job a lot easier.

The wet race 2nd place was really unexpected; the car just kept going past everyone and the setup meant it was a real joy to drive. Nice to get a Noble 1 and 2 ... I just need to beat Mal next time

The 2nd race had some really close but fair racing and I learnt loads. Certainly running out of fuel so close to the finish was frustrating BUT we had a heck a lot of fun which is what it's about. Roll on Snetterton in a fortnight

Dear Richard
Just watched the video - the last longer one. What impressed me was the frquency with which you were not changing gear! You were pi55ing past just about everyone but with hardly any gear changes. That car must have so much torque over such a vast range she must be a beauty to drive. Brilliant result on the 2nd place and IMHO I think you'd have been able to catch that pesky passer with a few tweaks here and there. Roll on next year.
