My trusty old 156 2.0 TS has been having its 108k service at my regular Bristol specialist (highly recommended if anybody is looking for one!!!). Just had a call to say that work is finished, but that the bill hasn't been totted up yet. The list of work suggests I'm about to get a bit of wallet pain though.

First off the cambelt and pulleys have all been replaced (for the third time). Apparently the belt was in an appalling state and could have let go at any time. An engine mount has been replaced after it was found to be broken. The clutch has been replaced for the second time (funnily enough the last one went at 54,000 miles, so that's consistent!) and a rear wheel bearing has had to be replaced. Together with the service and a new MOT, anybody fancy participating in a sweep as to what the bill will say?!!

If it's any help, I had a load of work done to my trusty old barge when it went in for a service at 112,000 miles.

The bill?

A tidy 1500 quid...

Duncan it is. Excellent work, very reasonable prices, but if it's only £475 I'll fall over backwards!

The answer is...£841.57. But he did forget the wheelbearing!

Very reasonable considering the amount of work but still, gulp!

Various things scattered around, including a very lovely Bertone GTV that's in for a bit of a rebuild and a tidy, very sound (but disasterously snot green) ex South African Alfetta GTV that the owner is looking to offload for silly money.
