Well after just under 3 weeks my 360 is back and working, yay! Thought I'd take advantage of this by using the one month free Xbox live card they sent me, but am running into a problem.

I haven't joined Xbox live before, so just set a basic offline profile and used that for about month, building up some decent achievements and save games. However, when I got the red rings I had to create a Windows Live account with my email, so had to pick a proper tag. Once I got it all back, I signed in for the first time, recovered the game tag I entered and used the one month redemption code.

Only problem is I've just realised it's not linked to my offline account, so if I sign in with my windows live ID I lose all my save games and have 0 achievement points. I don't want to use this one, I want to use the one I created when I first bought the console, but have I now screwed myself with redeeming the code on another account? I now can't make my original account a live ID, as my email is linked to the one I created just to get it sent off. Anything I can do bar create a new email and lose my months membership?

Sounds like you have a choice. Lose one months gold membership or all of your achievements so far.

Time to choose.

For £35-40 for a years gold membership your not really going to suffer too much so keep your achievements if they mean more than the few pounds a months credit is worth.

Easy choice, I'll keep the achievements. Oh well, cheers anyway!
