Can anyone advise a good recipe for Alfredo sauce?

Made this a few times now using different ingredients and different recipes, and they have ranged from deeply deeply average to far too salty (by the time the bacon has gone in...)

Consistency isn't the problem, but getting a wonderful creamy cheesy tasty flavour is.

Any family recipes will greatfully be given a go!
