OK, so only just got round to playing this, whats the deal with the bloody wheel thingie? Is it better to get a "normal" controller?

I found my laptimes and general control improved once I started playing with the nunchuk/remote combination.

Fastest Combo is controller and bike. I can hold my own against most online with the wheel though, its only once I start racing 2 star + bikers I have no chance.

I use a gamecube controller, because using the wii wheel feels like driving a bus... I guess the nunchuk + remote combo would be just as good.

I kinda like using the wheel, I got my copy on Sunday. I have trouble adapting to controllers although I have some wavebird wireless gamecube controllers which I will try at some point.

I use a wavebird and find it a lot easier - btw press any button on the d-pad on a gamecube controller to do a trick off a jump.
