I remember liking these when they came out a few years ago, and its something a little different. Am I right in thinking it is the 1.8T engine for the MK1 S3?? Any owners knocking around that can say what they are like to live with? MPG? VED?

You're right that the engine / running gear is basically identical in the S3 / TT.

My early S3 manages about 26mpg on a mix of backroads and everything however I drive it rather hard most of the time.

You can do 32/34 in a TT - if you can resist spanking them around!

That is the same basic engine from the S3 but it has been fettled with so mpg will be worse as will the VED. TBH in my mind if you're thinking of buying a Sports Coupe then VED and MPG should be bottom of a very long list. Nice looking example.
