2008 lake district sports car run out...
Discussion
hi,
i currently drive a TVR Griffith 500 but,
Im trying to organise a nice drive out through the lakes with the 300zx & supra owners clubs and hopefully some other nice marques.
posted on a few forums and sincerely hope it stays out of the hands of the boy racer/chav scene...
last couple of years its been a fantstic day out with cars from all over the country turning up.
thinking about the first 2 weekends in sept as possible dates...
the last 2 years have been very well organised, maps and professional photography, food stops and petrol stops!
some very nice cars too.
what you guys think?
anybody interested in this?
regards,
Nick.

Quite right Gemini. BNG is a long standing and very well established event. It is also the only national TVR event to be hosted here in the northeast. TVR owners need to support BNG to ensure it continues into the future.
To be honest the Lakes run is for hot Jap saloon cars like 300zx, Supra, etc. I know the title says 'sports cars', a bit of a confusing title.
Perhaps it would be better to promote the Lakes run to Evo's, Impreza's, etc.

Sorry, but if the guy wants to organise a run out around the lakes, all the best to him.
Most that attend will be non TVR these days as TVR'ers seem to have lost will to hoon, but are a still a few hardcore guys left that know what an acclerator is for.
Don't have a pop just because it clashes with a TVR event. I hope the BNG is a big sucess but not everyone wishes to attend these events. Often after a long drive to get there there is little to do after the first hour (bit like Supercar Sunday), but at least you do have a procession out.
Best wishes to both groups.

well i would like all sorts coming not just the jap contingency which i know will prob be most.
i know of a few porsches coming, an ultima, fingers crossed for an F40 or XJ220 and a few other interesting bits and bobs.
i dont wish to step on anyones toes but i would prefer to drive my car than walk around other peoples for a full day?
i hope both groups have good weather and a good day out with lots of photos!
all the best,
nick.
