Hi all, i have a MK5 2004 golf and the car does not beep to alert me when the passenger or drive is not wearing their seatbelt. The light on the display does not come up either. VW said it was a wiring fault and I'd have to book it in, which as you can guess is expensive. It is a 3 door by the way. Just wondering if their was a quick fix for me?
Thanks

Oh god your one of those.......well while I don't agree with your sentiments I will try to help.

Various ways round these annoying devices are used, the most common on older cars being to take the fuse or bulb out. On yours though it will likely be a bit more complex. Google "turning golf seatbelt warning off" something will come up, I know on a lot of cars these days there is a method to turn the damned things off ranging from holding the release button in to permanant turn offs involving key position and pressing dash buttons. If your still stuck come back.
