Camcorder to Mac

I have had many encounters with trying to get film to my Mac or PC and there is no way I will attempt this again as it drove me insane!!!!

Can anyone reccomend a company I can send my tape to and get it back in a format I can use in imovie please???

I suspect you may struggle with this as the uncompressed video data is probably be much too big to fit on a DVD, or possibly even a Blu-Ray disc!

Do you have an unusual sort of camcorder, or is there a specific problem that you are having? My experience of connecting a MiniDV camera via firewire and importing the video into iMovie has always been extremely smooth.
