We have a requirement for an embedded hw/sw engineer to join our team. Ideally with two or more years experience in hw/sw development.

Initially, the work will be software biased, but as time goes on, the position will require hardware design projects to be undertaken.

We currently work with a number of clients in the following areas - retail, automotive, construction and security, so the design work is both interesting and varied.

Most of our projects require C code to be written for Atmel AVR processors and we are currently evaluating the use of ARM core based processors. We also use MS VB.Net to write Windows applications.

We would be interested to hear from candidates with experience of the above and the following areas - GPRS, Ethernet, Switchmode PSU, RF, Bluetooth and Regulatory Compliance testing would be advantageous.

More information on who we are can be found on our web site

At a risk of seeming confrontational, why is there no indication of salary? I have read the job spec, and it could be anything from a £20k to £80k level of engineer. Applicants need to know whether it is worth their time bothering. Agencies like to hide it by saying "commensurate with experience", "apply with current salary" or "going rate" (there is no such thing), it would be nice to see an explicit number or range.

It is a bit puzzling because it says a minimum 2 years experience, but I have been doing a similar job for over 15 years and haven't covered more than maybe half of the requirements.

Maybe I'm just bitter that I can't do the job smile
