For all you speed junkies, how about 2.6:1 weight ratio kart @ 428 HP? They are still building it...

Can an Ultima give it a run? smile

There are other interesting projects on that site too, such as a turbine jet engine kart.

With an 1500hp LS7 Warhawk Engine from Jeff in an Ultima CanAm you can nearly reach a 2:1 weight ratio with an Ultima, but with much more traction as the thin tires from the kart have.

Was the 1500hp Ultima ever build? Do someone knows the performance (0-100/ 200 / 300 km/h) of an 1500hp Ultima Monster?

A 90bhp / 120kg twin broke the outright record with at 1:22.5 last weekend at the Superkart Grandprix.
I "only" race the singles 65(ish)bhp with lap record comparison at cadwell of 1:24.9 (not me i am afraid - John Riley European champion)

One thing you seldom hear any superkart racer say if only i could upgrade my engine for more power, the tendancy is to try to use, to the best of there ability, the power they already have.

The downside to racing these things is that 3 of us have been killed over the last 4 years, the last being a mate Richard Weavers at the Walter Hayes Trophy last year.
