Hello peeps,

Following on from earlier advice I'm looking at a 18-55 f2.8 Sigma lens - thanks. Does anyone use the non-HSM version, and can tell me therefore if it's particularly slow or noisy? The HSM seems to add £35 to the price (from Digital rev anyway) but I've no idea if it's worth paying the extra.

I've no idea about this lens, however for £35 extra, I would assume it's money well spent! The lens is over £300, so what's an extra £35????

In that case, no-brainer, go HSM.

I've never used the lens, but i'd pay the extra £35 for fast focusing smile

(Presuming you are using a nikon mount camera ? There is still no HSM version for Canon EF mount grumpy)

Cheers.

The HSM version is £270 from Digitalrev..... but I hadn't realised it was Nikon only!! grumpy. I have a 400D, so it looks like it's the non-HSM version for me. (£235).

Thanks,

Ruari
