I need a convertable for under £10k
Discussion
Guys, bit of help please.....
I have had elises, exiges, tt's, z4's in the past and now am looking for something cheap and cheerful to keep me occupied until i move to Oz next year - Im looking to spend less than £10k on a reliable convertible and have been thinking vx220, s2000 or mr2's, hopefully something that would depreciate too much as well?
I haven’t had much experience of any of these before and would welcome suggestions - im actually going to try and see a silver vx for £9k today but im still a little perturbed as ive had lotus's in the past!
Cheers

Ive always been a big Honda fan, had a few in past, and test drove an S2000 at the time I got my Elise 6 years ago. I really liked it, and it would have suited me at the time (it was going to be a company car, every day use, 20K+ per year) but I loved the Elise, and then the low CO2 etc swung it (I could have a £7k more expensive car for same net outgoing) and thats how I ended up falling in love with the Elise over 6 years ago
So to summarise, if I were in your shoes I get the best S2000 I could - that 240bhp VTEC engine, won the engine of the year award the year it came out for good reason - its got real character, the car itself is reliable, and you need to really drive it to get the best out of it...bit like an Elise really

PM Stevo96 who is selling a cracking S2 for around £10k. The reason he is selling is because he is going to OZ very soon.I have had elises, exiges, tt's, z4's in the past and now am looking for something cheap and cheerful to keep me occupied until i move to Oz next year - Im looking to spend less than £10k on a reliable convertible and have been thinking vx220, s2000 or mr2's, hopefully something that would depreciate too much as well?

Save your money and spend £3k on a Mazda MX5 Eunos. The 1.8 is poky enough for A&B-road blats, the engine is bullet-proof and non-interference so little chance of big bills. Cheap to run, insure and maintain, fabulously balanced chassis, lift-off oversteer possible with little effort... you cannot go wrong.

You can have my car for just under £10k Very good, and very quick! Faster than most elises (in a straight line!!)
