We stayed in Threlkeld, about 5 miles east of Keswick. The Land Rover and seagull shots were taken at Wastwater and the waterfalls were on the slopes on Blencathra just above Threlkeld.
Hope you both have better weather than we did - it was the wettest week I've spent in the Lake District. But as they say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing...

Did you know they're not really lakes? They're just big puddles really.
I used to spend quite a lot of time in The Lakes as a teenager. Having experienced pretty much every weather condition (some times all in the same day) I've always found that the area has a different charm what ever the weather is. Mind you that charm doesn't always make for good photography though.

Steve,
Were you into Photography much when you lived in the Lakes?
I'm only there for a week, staying at Windermere and I'm hoping to get some good shots.
Ginge.
I was indeed - many from: http://www.stevecarter.com/2005/2005-0.htmWere you into Photography much when you lived in the Lakes?

If I were you I'd head north! Windermere is just tourist city (although Grassmere is nice). Head for Buttermere, Crummock, Loweswater, Derwent, Ullswater, Ennerdale & Wastwater for the really good scenery.
