roof / window leaks

Hello, when I close the doors, the windows go over the lip of the roof, instead of going under it; so when it rains ( and it happens quite often in Belgium)the water runs between the roof panel and the windows....inside the car. How could this problem be avoided? I think the best way is to glue or sew a longer lip along the sides of the roof, maybe a rubber seal woud do
the job.It's not very easy to drive with a sponge in the left hand!

Hi seems to be a common problem with the S,am suffering with mine too,windows will not seal aluminium front window support is a bad fit,have tried different seals etc but no good wife still has to have a towel ready for if it rains.Can you adjust window travel to solve overrun? & are you sure water is not getting around the back of seals.Ray
