Hi - does anyone know of any companies that offer cosmetic car insurance? I was talking to someone the other day and he said that he was paying about £80 per year for insurance against cosmetic damage, meaning he was covered for car park damage, scratches etc. Unfortunatley I can't remember many of the details and I can't find any information on the internet so I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies that offer this sort of insurance. He also said "Chips Away" are a good company that could repair stone chip damage perfectly without respraying panels!

Email received from them today

Dear Stephen, At present we are prevented by our underwriters from covering any vehicles with Glass fibre/ Composite bodies. We are currently in discussions with them to have this restriction removed. We will keep your e-mail address on file if thats okay with you, and advise you when we have succeeded.
Thank you for your interest.
Yours truly,
Phil Goodacre

Thanks Macca - it sounds like a good idea and hopefully they'll reconsider the composite body thing.

I received yesterday a letter from AUTO RENEW stating that the exclusion for cars with 'Glass fibre/Composite bodies' has been removed i.e. you can now buy a cosmetic repair plan policy to cover TVRs etc.

Details of their cosmetic repair plan can be obtained from Auto Renew on (01332) 202990.
